Photographing Lightning

In theory it's really easy. You set the shutter to be open for 10+ seconds, set the timer and go!

Well, it's harder than it seems.

It went kind of like this normally:

10...9...8....7...6...5...FLASH...4...3...2...1...click.

Or:

10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3..2...1...click....close...FLASH.

So, in 30 minutes of trying to get a lightning bolt, this is all I could get:
